Peer support meetings are a great way of giving and gaining support from people who understand what it can be like to struggle with a mental health problem.
If you need a walking buddy, we can call you for a chat while you are out walking, so that you don’t have to take exercise alone. In the coming weeks and months we hope to develop socially distanced walking groups, to help people socialise with all the Covid-19 distancing and protections in place.
Improve your fitness by joining in with Mind staff to complete a daily target of 3k steps for health and wellbeing. The more ambitious of you can increase your target incrementally, as you achieve your milestones.

Expand your mind and explore museums and art galleries from the comfort of your own home in this social peer support group. Each week, we will virtually visit museums and art galleries and have an open discussion on what we’re viewing.
Upcycling is the practice of reinventing unwanted materials and transforming them into useful products. When you upcycle, you have the personal benefit of knowing that you are taking steps to promote a healthier environment. Upcycling is also a very creative process.
Through a series of interactive online activity sessions, participants will have the opportunity to create their own upcycling project. Participants will be provided with a list of required materials that can be found around the home and a step by step guide to support activity sessions.
Opens up the wonderful world of audiobooks to provide entertainment and a welcome distraction. Each session, we will listen to a tale online and have the opportunity to discuss it.
Have you ever wondered how gardening fashions have emerged or who the big names in garden history were? Join me as I focus on the interface between horticulture, aesthetics, gardening, philosophy, ecology and design.
Learn how plants came into fashion and out again, how style of gardening reflect social norms and what preoccupied the gardeners of different periods.
This is a group sing along that invites you to draw the air into your lungs, loosen your jaw and sing like no one is listening. With music spanning the decades and genres, there is bound to be something for everyone. Send in your requests and join us for a boogie or a gentle head bobbing.
You don’t have to sing; you can watch and enjoy the experience. All singing levels are welcome.
This group invites you to choose the subject you wish to draw. You can gather some items from a walk, such as leaves, twigs, pinecones etc., or pick a favourite house plant or fruit arrangement. We will do some short warm up exercises to get your eye and hand in before allowing half an hour to concentrate on one drawing. A pencil, some paper and a rubber are all you need to join in, but participants are welcome to work in whatever medium they choose.
Most sessions will focus on still life. We will also look at drawing from one’s imagination, inspired by poetry and music. We will look at drawing in abstract and changing the mood of a drawing by using different styles. We will also explore the effect that negative space, scale and perspective has on composition and your artistic licence.
You can decide if you want to share what you have done in the session or not. We may also work towards an online exhibition in the spring should participants wish to display their work in this way. You are welcome to join whether you draw every day or if this is the first time that you have ever put pencil to paper.
“Drawing is not what one sees but what one can make others see” – Edgar Degas.
Have you ever wondered how clouds are formed, why we do not wade, knee deep, in fallen leaves, how plants adapt to different landscapes and how trees communicate?
