Kensington and Chelsea Mind “Community Shed Project”

“Community Sheds” are becoming an increasingly popular way of creating spaces where people can get together to connect, converse and create; in order to promote mental wellbeing. Shed activities help reduce loneliness, isolation and depression and are often similar to things people would do in garden sheds.

For World Mental Health Day, we are launching our new Mind Community Sheds project. In the coming months we will be rolling out our new programme of Shed activities.

  • The Men’s Shed
  • The Women’s Shed
  • Upcycling, Repurposing and Repair Shed
  • Green Woodwork Shed
  • The Nature Shed
  • Talking Shed: a space for Shedders to socialise, network and plan Shed activities

Check back for more information as Mind Community Shed activities go live on our website.

World Mental Health Day

Mental health problems can affect anyone, any day of the year, but 10 October is a great day to show your support for better mental health and start looking after your own wellbeing.

Our mental health is just like our physical health: everybody has it and we need to take care of it. Watch National Mind’s animation here which explains what mental health problems are and how they affect us.
