Training and Employment Service
Mind works to help individuals, excluded from the labour market due to mental ill health, to develop the skills, confidence and work experience needed to access a range of vocational and employment options.
Mind also works to address barriers to continuing training, employment and further development such as low expectation, stigma and discrimination, by working to promote a better understanding and awareness of mental health issues in the wider community.

Established in 1985, Mind Training and Employment Services were set up to facilitate the training and vocational aspirations of mental health service users requiring a period of work related rehabilitation in order to access further options and realise their full potential.

The service aimed to broaden the scope and vision beyond traditional day care models for people with severe and enduring mental health problems by creating supportive accredited training pathways into mainstream colleges, businesses, education etc.
