Mental Health Promotion
Research shows that 1 in 4 of the population will experience some form of mental health problem at some point in their lives.  Mind believes that good mental health is important to everyone and that access to good quality information and support enables people to take a proactive and positive approach to their mental wellbeing.

Promoting Mental Wellbeing

One of Mind's key aims is to promote a better understanding of mental health and wellbeing in the wider community. This year we have been discussing ways to improve our mental health promotion work and this has resulted in a number of new initiatives.

Mental Health On Line Directory

With the launch of our directory, we aim to expand access to our advice and information database in order to promote choice and help members of the public find the resources they need to support their mental wellbeing.

Mind Talk Newsletter

Last year we re launched Mind Talk, a quarterly Newsletter designed to promote mental wellbeing and to inform people about Mind's work.  With the launch of this new site we are going on line with Mind Talk as a Latest News Section which we will produce bi monthly.

Healthy Minds

Healthy Minds is a new initiative designed to inform people about mental health issues and to support individual wellbeing.

Based on the Award Winning Mental Health Information Booklet Series published by National Mind, Healthly Mind's is a series of interactive workshops and discussions on the type of mental health topics that affect us all.  For the new 2008/2009 programme please click here , and for an application form please click here. Reading for Wellbeing

Each month we advertise details of our book of the month.  The choice is usually a personal recommendation and the only criteria is that someone has found it personally useful in supporting their mental wellbeing.  The monthly choice is highlighted in our Latest News page.

If you would like to recommend a book please send your suggestion to: enquiries@kcmind.org.uk
